Each Kolander Images limited edition piece is a true Digital Original. That's right; nothing was lost in copying
an original master image because the master image was painstakingly originated inside a computer using specialized drawing
software. Unlike traditional mechanical Lithograph or Serigraph limited edition printing methods that can alter the
original concept during the color separation and printing plate manufacturing process, Kolander Images works use
Bezier Curve and polygon fill technology that ensures mathematic precision no matter the image size or printing resolution.
For you computer buffs, these are not bit images created with digital cameras, photo editing software, or paint programs;
these pieces are mathematic line art expressions designed to operate at any resolution.
Not only are Kevin's Digital Original art pieces created digitally, but they are also printed digitally
using state of the art multi-layered LUCIA(tm) 12-color pigment on high quality canvas. This exceptional quality
canvas is specially engineered to accept the pigment and produce some of the richest colors and highest resolution possible.
The print process sprays tiny adjacent dots of paint onto the canvas to produce any of four billion colors.
The over 30,000 nozzle print head system, producing a true 1,200 dot-per-inch resolution, affords extreme precision over over
mechanical printing methods.
We're a strong believer that the proper aesthetic frame and mount of an art piece can contribute as much to a room as
the piece itself. Therefore, we do not pre-frame our limited editions. Light, intensity, and the elements can
cause any fine art piece to fade or degrade. Some of the very latest light-fastness and color-fastness tests involving pigmented
LUCIA(tm) paint indicate that the best performance (25 to 75 years before measurable degradation) is obtained when the
piece is hermetically sealed and mounted with non-glare ultraviolet absorbing glass available at most any framing shop.
And of course, all experts agree that fine art should be kept away from moisture, direct sun, or intense light.
We've provided a detailed Certificate of Authenticity that has been hand signed by the artist, just like the
art piece, with a few security features tossed in. The art piece and the certificate bear the designation of "D.O."
(Digital Original). And of course, because each limited edition state of the image has a maximum run size, rest assured
that no additional copies of that edition state will be authorized in the future. The combination of those things will
help assure the value of the piece well into the future.
